I'm a fulltime artist, following my passion and loving it. I'm the jeans and tshirt type, having grown up in various locales, from river-side sugar cane fields to tropical tourist spot, isolated farmstead to suburban slum, and now living in a quiet beachside suburb in the city. Reasonably intelligent though quite dense on occassion, with a wry sense of humour and a love of laughter. I donate blood and I almost always drop some coins in a buskers hat (even if they're terrible). I love a good zombie flick, a good comedy, trying new things, and thrill rides.

Used to be a gamer but don't play as much as I used to (DnD, Magic, WoW, the odd console game, rts, chess, khet). I confess I cannot speak Klingon (although I was once tempted to learn). I can hand code html, change a tyre and a petrol filter, swear in a few different languages (call it a hobby), fall convincingly off a surfboard, make balloon animals, tie a cherry stem into a knot with my tongue, and laugh at myself (probably also at you)

I play pool badly, my ballroom dancing is rusty, I'm hopeless when it comes to poker, I have no idea what to order at a bar, I'm terrible with names, and I frequently have paint, charcoal, or some other arty substance smudged somewhere on my person. An enigma, wrapped in a riddle, shrouded in mystery. Not really.

To me, art is a way of communicating an emotion, idea, or point of view. Looking at art should stretch the mind in new directions, intellectually or aesthetically. Works with layers of meaning are just as valid as simple, one dimensional pieces. This is the visual representation of us, here, now, as individuals, as a society, as a species. I'm an artist because I can't imagine NOT being an artist.

This year I'm getting a tattoo (but not telling you where), strutting my stuff at a few art exhibitions, diving with sharks, following my passions, and being happy.
